Dear Parishioners,
Welcome back to church! Starting June 1, 2020 we will be coming back to our regular schedule of daily and Sunday Masses. Thanks be to God! I am grateful to all of you for your patience, prayers and understanding as you have had to be away from the Mass and the Eucharist. Our Lord reminded His first apostles and disciples and He reminds us today that He remains with us always especially when we are unable to receive Him sacramentally, through no fault of our own.
I want to assure all of you that when we do open our church to public Mass starting on Monday, June 1, 2020, we will have in place all necessary protocols to keep everyone safe. So, in preparation for the June 1st re-opening of the church we will have everything professionally cleaned and disinfected. In keeping with proper consideration of health and safety we will be keeping the number of people in church at 88. We will have some extra space for overflow so that we do not have to turn people away at the door.
If we do reach our capacity in the church for any Mass then you will be able to attend in the overflow space through video media, and the Eucharist will be distributed both in the church and overflow space. I will continue to livestream the Mass so that people can participate via digital media from home as well. There will be no missalettes in the pews in order to limit the possibility of contagion. We are blessed to be able to come back for public worship and I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate these new procedures.
As you know the first phase of the revitalization of the interior of the church has been completed during this time. We will have the grand unveiling of the tabernacle altar and repositioning of the tabernacle to its intended central location on June 6th at 3:45pm, just prior to the beginning of our Sunday Vigil Mass. Through this pandemic the love of Jesus has been visible in the selfless actions and compassion that the people of this faith community have shown to each other. Jesus truly is the “Heart of the Church” and the new location of the tabernacle will highlight this truth.
I pray that with our return to public worship our faith will deepen and our zeal to serve others will continue. Thank you all for the generosity of your time, talents and treasures in living the faith we profess and helping others to be drawn into a relationship with Jesus. May God continue to pour out his blessings upon us and guide us safely to Him by the power of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost Sunday.
In Christ,
Father Dallas
