I have great and joyful news to share with you. Our churches will be opening for public worship of Mass starting on June 1, 2020. The governor has given the permission for all places of worship to open for worship services starting as early as this weekend, May 24th. While the governor has granted this permission to open, he has also restricted attendance to only 25% of the capacity of each individual church.
Given our smaller church this means that we will have to determine how we will meet these requirements, so as to keep people safe. There are also other restrictions as to having proper sanitation available, proper means to social distance people in the church, and to have an appropriate plan of sanitizing the church between Masses.
Given these restrictions and precautions, the bishop is taking the necessary time to put out guidelines to keep each parish safe and to assure each parishioner that they will be safe when they come for Mass. I am extremely happy to know that we will be able to be together again soon in the church to worship together live and in person! I am thankful to all of your for your faithfulness and patience during this time. You continue to be a great support to me with your prayers, kind words, and cards.
A special annoncement will be made immediately following the Sunday Mass at 8:30am. I will be giving a brief update about the interior work that has been done so far in the church. A more complete update will happen on June 6th, which has been stated in the bulletin for this weekend. Pease join us for the livestream Mass tomorrow morning or watch it later from the website to see and hear about these exciting new improvements!
God bless you all and please know of my continued prayers for you daily!
